The Bent Quill Players produce theater that utilizes the resources of artists to create work that is accessible and affordable.  The company was formed to develop artistic expression and talent by bringing to life classical and historical works. Above all, The Bent Quill Players hope to provide entertainment for audience and artist alike in order to foster common interest and connection through theater.

Meaghan Cross - Founder

Meaghan is an actor, singer, sometimes dancer, comedian and now producer. Performing since the age of five, Meaghan always knew that she wanted to be involved in theater. She attended Sarah Lawrence College, studying theater, vocal music, and literature and graduated in 2008. Meaghan also loves working with kids and is a member of the Nitestar program (http://www.nitestar.org), where she is an actor/ educator/ activist, working with children in the NYC area!

Irena (Raney) Cumbow - Founder

Irena is a director and stage manager currently residing in Washington Heights.  She hails from Seattle, Washington where she grew up attending local theater, opera, and Shakespeare in the park.  She attended Sarah Lawrence College where she studied theater directing, European history, and literature.  As a stage manager  she has had the opportunity to work with Wooden O (Seattle), National Asian American Theater Company (New York), and Theater Mitu (New York).  Irena directed The Bent Quill Players' first production, "The Busybody" which premiered in August.
